When you stand on our terrace in the morning after your stay in Appiano, the view begins on the left with the finger, stretches across the valley basin with Bolzano, San Paolo Appiano and the Oltradige, and reaches as far as the Sciliar and the Dolomites. To the right, Corno Bianco and Corno Nero frame the panorama. Behind you rise Monte Penegal and Monte Macaion — two familiar mountains that have always given Steinegger its sense of grounding. A panorama that is never quite the same — sometimes vast, sometimes warm, sometimes crystal clear.
But always the kind that makes you pause for a moment and think: “It’s rather beautiful up here.”
